In-season monitoring

Fight Against Blight: Fera is participating in a BPC initiative to collect intelligence on blight outbreaks - The Fight Against Blight Campaign. BPC provide a mapping service which enables you to track outbreaks in your area throughout the season.

Aphid Monitoring: Fera also runs the BPC funded aphid monitoring network in seed potato crops. This provides aphid alerts and information on the risk of virus spread from 100 sites across the country. Click here to view website

National surveys

Between 1993 and 2000, Defra funded the first comprehensive potato survey in England and Wales to monitor changes in the relative importance of these diseases and to identify any new disease risks.
