Reference crops throughout England will be used to provide regular updates on disease progress, growth stage and canopy size on untreated plots of four different cultivars at each site. Consultants will review the data and provide summary reports on disease severity, risk and control options. Reports will be available following each assessment from GS30 onwards.
AICC members will provide regular crop news from the regions throughout the season, compiled by Farming Online.
Annual surveys of winter wheat diseases have been conducted since 1975, and provide continued and up-to-date information on the status of diseases. More recently, national pest monitoring has been incorporated. View national survey data
Untreated plots of the cultivar Robigus will be assessed fortnightly for the presence of ear blight pathogens from GS 31/32 until GS61 (flowering) and then again at GS75. The species of fusarium were involved causing symptoms will be identified. All plots infected by fusarium species will be tested to quantify any mycotoxins present. View monitoring data
Septoria tritici
Information on agronomic risk factors for Septoria tritici and predictions on regional risk from an early warning scheme based on weather factors pre-GS31. |
Eyespot
Risk prediction scheme to identify crops at risk from eyespot. Use the interactive risk model to calculate the risk score for your crop. |
Fusarium
Assessment of risks of fusarium head blight and mycotoxin contamination. |
Yellow rust / Brown rust
Assessment of risks to key cultivars, based on in-season monitoring. |
